Korusys was formed by two Senior Engineering professionals in 2007 with a view to provide the highest quality of Electronics consultancy and products.

After nearly 20 years of experience in the industry we felt the time was right to create a company that incorporated both our expertise and the values we felt could sometimes be missing in the Electronics market place.

Key personnel
Paul Rushton - Director View prushton's profile on LinkedIn

Paul graduated from The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1991 and 1992 with a BEng in Electronic Engineering and an MSc in VLSI Systems Engineering. He worked as a Research Assistant at the University for two years in the Computation department, researching Object Oriented Hardware/Software co-design on ESPRIT funded initiatives - Attempting to show how systems described at a higher level of abstraction could be committed to hardware or software and designed in VHDL or C as appropriate.

Paul joined Roke Manor Research ® in 1994 as a Senior Engineer/Project Manager and worked on various projects including ATM switches, ASIC and FPGA design, Systems Architecture design and Software implementation. He left in 1999 to work as an independent consultant and worked on various designs including a dual channel Ethernet Packet Analyser, ATM Analyser and a systems design for a next generation Terabit IP router.

He joined Semtech Ltd ® in 2001 and worked on several designs specialising in synchronisation, packet technologies and data network systems. Principle among these designs was the ToPSync ® ASIC, the world's first timing recovery chip for packet networks, for which he was the principle architect, designer and Programme Manager. During his time at Semtech Paul studied for an MBA part time at Southampton University and graduated in 2007.

Vern Middleton - Director View Vern Middleton profile on LinkedIn

Vern graduated from The University of York in 1988 with an MEng in Computer Systems and Software Engineering. He joined Plessey Research at Roke Manor ® and worked on a series of EEC funded projects in the RACE and ESPRIT initiatives. These projects included the design and implementation of an object oriented based, distributed operating system to support telecomms applications and the design and implementation of the world's first, ATM forum complaint, ATM switch. This was followed by work on other ATM based switching platforms and optical access networks for Siemens ® and other vendors. Vern left Roke Manor Research Ltd ® in 1999 as a Skill Group Leader and went to work as an FPGA designer for Xyratex ® . Here he worked on the design of an FPGA to implement the core functions of a 2GB/s Fibre Channel protocol analyzer. Vern then dabbled in the world of the internet and was employed by a startup, web based company, Rapidinsure. The first dedicated online insurance company. Here he worked on the SQL database design and web based quote engines. Following a voluntary sabbatical Vern worked for Semtech Ltd ®, a leading mixed signal semiconductor company. Here he worked on the systems specification, hardware design and implementation of a complex ASIC associated with distributing synchronization and timing across data networks.

Testimonials
We rely greatly on our reputation for quality and timely delivery of our projects.  Some examples of our work are given below
Korusys worked with Tandberg TV to develop highly complex FPGA's in the arena of MPEG distribution.

"... Korusys provided us with expert knowledge and skills in complex FPGA and embedded software development across a range of broadcast TV projects. The projects were completed succesfully and on time allowing Tandberg TV to meet their customer goals. "
